We departed Kalomo on the 14th at 4:00am to travel to the capital city for Mackmore to have adenoid surgery at Cure Hospital.. It is a 5 hour drive and we needed to be there at 9:30am. We traveled well and got him checked in to find out he had an unknown rash on his tummy. Because of this they would not put him under for surgery. We think it was mosquito bites but we could not be sure. So it was back to Kalomo until we can decide how to move forward with his surgery. Michael and Sheri headed out to get House mom Mary and Mackmore for his surgery date on the 15th. in Lusaka. It has been raining for over a week now and the rural roads are almost impassable. They started out on the road all the transporters are traveling and had to turn back. They tried the only other way and found many areas washed out. I am so blessed the river was low enough to cross and they made it all the way to House of Faith. The truck was loaded with mid month supplies also. Our older children that went back with family in Dec came in on public transport to shop with me for school uniforms, shoes, school supplies and bicycles. Faith is in the 9th grade and Vanbeck and Olivia are in 8th grade. They will cycle to and from school about 10 miles each day. Pray they will stay energized, study hard and their bicycles will stay strong. |
